Verifying the Installer

Overview

When planning to install Bizagi Studio, you can verify that the installer file has been downloaded successfully (i.e., completely and uncorrupted) and ensure that it is a legitimate Bizagi installer (i.e., has not been tampered with).

This section illustrates what aspects to look for to verify a Bizagi installer's integrity and authenticity.


Before You Start

To verify Bizagi Studio's installer, ensure that you have downloaded it as described in Downloading Bizagi Studio.


What You Need to Do

Follow these steps to conduct a verification:

1. Locate and Navigate to the Installer File

Locate and navigate to the folder where the Bizagi installer file is stored on your machine.

2. Access File Properties

Right-click on the installer file and select the Properties option.

3. Open Digital Signatures Tab

In the file's properties window, select the Digital Signatures tab.

4. Verify Bizagi Limited Signature

  1. Locate and click the Bizagi Limited signature in the list.
  2. Click Details.

5. Check Signature Information

In the Details window, select the General tab. Review the following aspectsto make sure that the file has not been tampered with.

a. Under the Digital Signature Information, confirm that the message:
"This digital signature is OK." appears.

b. At the bottom of the window, ensure the signer name is:
"DigiCert Timestamp 2021."

6. Inspect Certificates

You may inspect and verify the certificates employed to sign the installers. To do so:

Click View Certificate.

View Certificate If doing so, keep in mind the following:

Review the certificate details display:

  • Issued To: Bizagi Limited
  • Issued By: DigiCert...
  • Ensure the Valid From... to date range is valid.

In the Certification Path tab, verify the full path of certificates up to the root:

  • Select DigiCert SHA 2 and DigiCert (root) to check their details.

Verify the following:

  • DigiCert SHA 2 Certificate

    • Issued To: DigiCert SHA 2
    • Issued By: DigiCert
    • Valid From... to date range is valid.

    • Issued By: DigiCert
    • Valid From... to date range is valid.

Troubleshooting

If any of the information is not as expected:

  • Double-check that the installer was downloaded from our official site: www.bizagi.com.
  • If you are still unsure whether the installation file has been tampered with, contact our Support Team.
